G-CVIX Holding the nose high as the worlds last flying Sea Vixen touches down on the active at RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2013. The raw power from the pair of 50 kN Avon RA.24R Mk.208 engines said it all. She was delivered in Dec. 1963 to 899 NAS, which carried the mailed fist emblem. A total of 150 Sea Vixens were built, and FAW.2 differed externally from FAW.1 by its enlarged tailbooms. (more of G-CVIX)

ZE425 Displaying at RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2013. The Sea King wears the “40th Anniversary Sea King 1969-2009” livery under the FAA badge. Inducted shortly after the first Moon landing, the Sea King would go on to complete 49 years with the Royal Navy. (more of ZE425)

ZK323 On static display at RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2013. This aircraft belongs to No. XI Sqn., one of the oldest fighter squadrons of the RAF that was briefly based in India during World War II. No. XI Sqn. would deploy to Cyprus in the month following the air show for Operation Luminous. (more of ZK323)
