XM597 This aircraft is one of only two Vulcans ever to be used in anger during the Falklands conflict in 1982. Sadly it never made it all the way to its intended target after an accident during air to air refuelling. It then had to divert to Rio in Brazil with a full weapons load, a truly remarkable story!
