999734 On display aboard USS Intrepid with New York's skyline in the background. This Kfir was used by VMFT-401 'Snipers' from 1987 to 1989 to provide dissimilar air combat training. 03 25 Kfirs were leased by the united states to play the role of 'agressors' in U.S. Navy and USMC war games. 12 of these Kfirs operated in the U.S. Navy from 1985 to 1988 in 'the Challengers' squadron. The other 13 served in the U.S. Marine corps 'Snipers' squadron. The planes were returned to Israel when the lease expired. (more of 03)
