ZS-SPA "Matroosberg" on a diversion flight due to bad wheather conditions at Frankfurt. In the 26 years of operations, collecting 74.000 hours, this ´SP´-Jumbo saw also services in the livery of Luxair, Air Mauritius and Alliance Air. In spring 2002 ZS-SPA was withdrawn from service and dismantled at Johannesburg. (more of ZS-SPA)

EC-EDM was the first Boeing 737 series 300 on the Spanish register, delivered on June, 5th 1987 and she is seen here on her first visit to Lohausen in basic Sunworld Airways colours. A few weeks later EC-EDM was repainted in new Universair colours. After 30 in the air, last operator was Southwest AL, she was withdrawn from service in February 2016. (more of EC-EDM)

SE-DDT "Amund Viking" was delivered on March, 7th 1979 as the final of a total of 49 DC-9-41s deliverd new to SAS, and the 4th and last in natural metal colours. SE-DDT was withdrawn from service in January 2002 and she was scrapped at Roswell, New Mexico in 2003. The forward fuselage first was installed in a mall in Sunrise, Florida and after the closure in 2012 she moved again to a place somewhere in Texas. (more of SE-DDT)

PH-BUC "Amazon" on an unscheduled visit together with another B.747-200 and a DC-8-63 of KLM due to bad wheather conditions at Schihol. PH-DEE "Abel Tasman", named after the Dutch discoverer and seaman Abel Janszoon Tasman, also name giver of the Australian island Tasmania, on a brief visit at Lohausen, flying for Tunis Air. PH-DEE joined the UPS-fleet in 1986, converted to a DC-8-73 freighter, equipped with 4 CFM56 engines and registered as N819UP. (more of PH-DEE)

XR806 on one of the numerous trooping flights, carrying British personal and soldiers of the ´Rhine Army` to manoeuvres in Canada. This VC10 was written off after a ground accident that ended up with the aircraft sitting on it's tail after an unsuccessfully defuelling and it was later scrapped at Brize Norton during 1999. D-ADKO Former "Stuttgart" and "Bremerhaven" was operated by Lufthansa from 1975 until 1994, then she was sold to Skyjet Brazil as PP-AJM. She was converted to a freighter and delivered to Gemini Air Cargo as N606GC in 1996., named "Joe". She was in service with Gemini from 12/96 until 08/08, then withdrawn from use and stored at Roswell, New Mexico. (more of D-ADKO)

N529PA "Clipper America" minutes before his departure as Clipper 001 to New York via London-Heathrow. In the winterseason 1983/84 Pan American operated this daily schedule with B.747SPs and the few B.747s series -200 from Dusseldorf to JFK. N529PA was the cuckoo's egg in the 11 plane strong B.747SP-fleet, the only one, which was origanally buildt for Braniff as N606BN and which was operated only for around two years in Pan American colours until it was traded in together with his ten brotherships for B.747-100s from United Airlines. N221GE "Genčve" is leaving Geneva on her way to New York. She carried the US-registration until September 1992, when she was reregistered as HB-IGE and operated for another eight years in different Swissair colours. From September 2000 she was leased for three years to South African Airways as ZS-SKB until her retirement. (more of N221GE)

G-ASGC In the late 70´s British Airways operated a daily service LHR-DUS-Teheran-DUS-LHR with VC-10s. Around midday two VC-10s were present at Lohausen, one on the onward schedule to and one on the return flight from Teheran. In 1980 G-ASDC was withdrawn from service and donated to the Imperial War Museum Duxford. (more of G-ASGC)

HB-IDZ was one of only six, originally ordered by and buildt for Eastern AL DC-8-63PF, a `Super Sixty` with strengthened cabin floor for operations also as full freighter, but originally without cargo door. In December 1985 HB-IDZ was sold to UPS as N874UP, she was modified to DC-8-73PF standard with CFM56-engines and operated until February 2009, when she was withdrawn from service and stored at Roswell, New Mexico. HS-TGG "Sriwanna" is seen here departing Lohausen after a diversion due to bad weather, on her way to Frankfurt. In Service for Atlas Air she returned back to Lohausen for several times as N527MC in 2005. On February, 2nd in 2008 N527MC was damaged beyond economical repair due to slipped cargo load, which penetrated the aft bulkhead at Lóme, Togo. (more of HS-TGG)

OB-1244 Together with sistership OB-1300, Aeronaves operated cargo flights for Iberia-Cargo in 1989 and 1990. OB-1244 was a converted pax DC-8-55, formerly operated by Japan AL and after conversion in 1977 by JAL-Cargo. The engines were modified by ´Quiet Nacelles Corporation` early ´89. Aircraft was withdrawn from use in 1992 and scrapped several years later at Opa Locka, Florida. (more of OB-1244)
