NS519 On display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. The USAAF operated the Mosquito as a photographic and weather reconnaissance aircraft, nightfighter and for Red Stocking intelligence gathering missions. This Mosquito with a red tail is painted to represent an aircraft of the 653rd Bombardment Sqn. based in England in 1944-45 that conducted Blue Stocking weather reconnaissance missions, as well as dropping chaff.
