64-15476 On display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Huey ‘492’ is painted to represent a 20th Special Operations Squadron “Green Hornets” helicopter that rescued a seven-man team of Green Berets on Nov. 26, 1968 in Vietnam. The pilot, 1st Lt. J. 64-15 Still in restoration but the progress is clearly visible. On the left side of the picture you can see the structure of the front part which seems to be almost finished. The Fuselage is already connected to the center wing box (with only 4 bolts) and so is the right Rolls Royce Merlin engine. This aircraft is built under license by CASA but primarily it is a Heinkel He-111 B. This aircraft was used in the 2nd World War as a bomber for the German Air Force but this particular one was used for the spanish Air Force. (more of 64-15)
