EC-HGO As MAD decided to close two of its four runways today, we experienced massive delays and complete chaos from the ATC side. However, departing from runway 36L with about 15 aircraft waiting, gave me the chance to take some nice pics. This beautiful example wears "Illes Balears" titles, advertising the Balearic Islands and is standing at position "R6" while the sun is approaching the horizion. 1200px wide for more details. G-DBCB The daily Lufthansa flight LH 4766 DRS-LHR is operated as a wet-lease by BMI. The aircraft is even equipped with Lufthansa seats and cabin staff on board also speak German. A rain shower just went through, creating a nice reflection. (mehr von G-DBCB)

The new "Berlin Brandenburg International" airport is taking form. On the right is the tiny current terminal that dates back to the times of the socialist Eastern Germany. Bit to the left is the former northern runway (which I still remember to have used a few years ago) and in the middle of the picture the only runway currently in use. The basic layout of the new terminal is already recognizable and very much follows the shape of Munich Airport (same designer).

N179AA Isn't that pure beauty?! I still remember the day, standing with my friends and a.net photographers Daniel Werner and Robert Maulhardt on the parking deck in PHX, the evening sun shining and creating a golden glow on the red mountains... HB-HOY What an experience! Flying in one of the last examples of this type was great, I must however say that the Lufthansa JU52s are much more comfortable.
