N64339 TWA stripped white paint from this airplane during a brief test to see if it made economic sense to shed the weight of the paint while mainting a silver finish. The results were negative. On June 14, 1985, N64339 was hijacked with 145 passengers and 8 crew members on a scheduled flight from Athens to Rome and diverted to Beirut. For 17 days the kidnappers wandered between Beirut, Damascus and Algiers with their hostages, who were gradually released. On June 30, 1985 the remaining 36 passengers and 3 crew members were released in Damascus (more of N64339)

British Caledonian and British Airways as G-BJXN, Continental AL and Continental Micronesia as N78019, Air Atlanta Icelandic as TF-ATA and finally Logistic Air as 5U-ACE. Evergreen International  Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress
N207EV This Douglas built B-17 was used by the CIA with Skyhook Surface Air Recovery System gear fitted in the nose for Project Coldfeet. This successful mission was carried out on June 1, 1962, which involved the dropping and retrieval of agents with Soviet anti-submarine warfare intelligance from a polar ice station, aboandoned by the Russians in May 1961. Since 2002 N207EV has been on display at the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon, restored in its original military identity (more of N207EV)
